A Pembroke Dock man has been disqualified from driving for over three years after admitting a drink-driving offence.
Forty-nine-year-old Rodney Starkey, of Albion Court, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court, on Tuesday, to plead guilty to a charge of driving his Peugeot 307 on London Road, on May 3.
He was also charged with a bail act offence after failing to appear in court last week for a hearing.
Prosecutor Dennis Davies told the court that the defendant was stopped in his car by police officers at around 8 pm, nearby the Pembroke Dock Quins Rugby Club.
After a roadside breath test proved positive, he gave a reading of 50 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath at the police station.
Defence solicitor Matthew Greenish told the court that Mr. Starkey, a painter and decorator by trade, had gone to see a friend about an MOT for his car and intended to have lunch, but decided to have another drink.
“Mr. Starkey accepts both matters, the bail act offence was down to his sloppiness and not keeping on top of his paper work,” he explained.
Magistrates banned the defendant from driving for 38 months and fined him a total of £160 for the offences.
He was also ordered to pay cost of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
