Angle RNLI’s all weather lifeboat was launched on Wednesday, March 7, following a ‘pan-pan’ emergency broadcast from a 5.5 metre RIB, with two people on board.
The RIB had broken down and was dragging her anchor off Dale Fort in the Milford Haven Waterway.
The Tamar class lifeboat, Mark Mason, launched at 11.19 am and located the casualty in Dale Bay. The RIB’s anchor was recovered, a tow was rigged and the casualty was brought into Dale.
With the casualty safe ashore, the lifeboat was released and returned to her station, where she was rehoused at 12.28 pm.
It was the second call-out in two days for the lifeboat station. On the Tuesday, the all-weather lifeboat launched at 10.17 pm after a car was reported to be in the water in Castle Pill, Milford Haven.
The lifeboat arrived on the scene within 10 minutes and, due to the height of the tide, her Y Boat was launched to investigate. The car was located and, working alongside the Fire and Rescue Service, it was confirmed that no persons were present.
As the car was now visible, due to the tide dropping, the Y Boat was recovered and the lifeboat returned to her station to be rehoused at 12.10 am.
