Angle RNLI’s all weather lifeboat was alerted on Sunday, April 15, after a report that two men were cut off by the tide off Dale Fort in the Milford Haven Waterway.

The men were attempting to row out to a mooring when their tender capsized and, as they were unable to re-board it, they made their way ashore.

The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched at 11.55 am and arrived on the scene in seven minutes. The lifeboat’s Y Boat with RNLI volunteers was launched and went ashore to assist the casualties, who were now in the company of Dale Coastguard.

The casualties were suffering from hypothermia, so one at a time they were transferred in the Y Boat to the nearby slipway, where an ambulance and paramedics were waiting.

The tenders were recovered from the shoreline and taken to the slipway, where they were secured. With no more assistance needed, the Y Boat was recovered and the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 1.44 pm.
