A 71-year-old man, suffering from abdominal pains, was evacuated from Skokholm Island in the early hours of Sunday morning by Angle RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat.
The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched at 2.59 am and reached the island in 26 minutes.
Because there was insufficient water alongside the island’s jetty, the lifeboat’s Y Boat was deployed to transfer the casualty. Once the Y Boat was recovered to the lifeboat, best speed was made to the Milford Haven Port Authority jetty, where an ambulance was waiting.
With the casualty in the care of ambulance personnel, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 4.40 am.
