Angle RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched last Friday at the request of UK Coastguard, to go to the aid of a six-metre cabin cruiser, which had suffered engine failure.
The D class lifeboat, SuperG II, was launched at 6.28 pm and located the cabin cruiser, which had its anchor deployed, in Pennar Gut on the Milford Haven Waterway. There was one person on board.
Once alongside, at 6.45 pm, the lifeboat volunteers confirmed that all was okay on board. The anchor was recovered, a tow was rigged and a course was made for Milford Docks.
At the entrance to the Docks channel, the casualty was placed into an alongside tow and taken into the lock pits, where she was berthed on to the pontoon.
The lifeboat was then released to return to her station, where she was rehoused shortly before 8 pm.
