Members of the 55 Plus Club were very pleased to return to their swimming sessions at the beginning of the New Year after a four week break for maintenance and repair to the Narberth Swimming Pool.
To celebrate the New Year, members attended a coffee morning at the Nantyffin Motel, Llandissilio, recently, and enjoyed a gossip, coffee and an excellent buffet laid on by the hotel staff.
During 2006, the club had a busy time, with a birthday lunch in June to commemorate the club's 20th anniversary, a theatre visit to Aberystwth Arts Centre to see a performance of 'Fiddler on the Roof' in August, and, of course, the ever-popular Christmas party in December at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth, when everyone was presented with a souvenir 20th birthday coffee cup. The 55 Plus Club AGM will be held at the end of February and there will be a Swimming Awards Lunch in April. The club's annual holiday will be to the Algarve, Portugal, in May.
Members are now looking forward to a further programme of social events during the New Year. Club swim sessions take place at the Narberth Pool on Mondays and Friday mornings, but membership must be applied for by letter. Please phone the secretary on 01834 831502
