This week at Heatherton has seen celebrity robots 'Razer' and 'Terrorhertz' from Robot Wars fight it out at the park's very own arena.

The world famous performers demonstrated to a delighted Heatherton crowd their amazing combat powers, destroying objects such as microwaves, bins and freezers within seconds.

'Razor', weighing in at 96kg, boasted a powerful hydraulic crusher with a capability of nine tonnes of force. 'Terrorhertz' was equally impressive as its pneumatic axe entertained the crowds.

Both robots have won major tournaments; 'Razer' claiming the world championship twice, and 'Terrorhertz' winning the UK title in 2004, and runner-up in 2005.

Operations manager Simon Webb commented: "We at Heatherton are very proud and delighted to have Razer and Terrorhertz here. Seeing these machines in action is quite amazing. I don't think I would fancy my chances against them!"

Owner and operator of 'Razer', James Cooper, stated: "I think everyone here at Heatherton got to see what power these machines have; we have had a great day and we are looking forward to coming back later this year."

Lucky winners of the Heatherton competition, Morgan King from Barry and Karin Kamil from Swansea, got the opportunity to use Terrorhertz's axe weapon, destroying a microwave.

'Razer's' little brother, 'Venom', will be at the park with other mini robots on August 4, and 'Razer' himself will be returning on August 18 , when another celebrity robot, 'Wheelie Big Cheese', will join him.
