A trio of runners who are taking on the challenge of running three marathons in three days have got their fund-raising off to a cracking start. Tenby firefighter and Pembrokeshire College lecturer, Nicky Rees, local businessman, Matthew Evans, and Llawhaden builder Steve Rogers, raised the magnificent sum of £1,400 for the Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund for Motor Neurone Disease by striding out on a treadmill outside Tenby's Pam Pam Restaurant and Grill in Tudor Square on Saturday. They each ran for 90 minutes in preparation for their '3 in 3 Challenge' which will see them take part in the Beachy Head, Snowdon and Dublin marathons, beginning on Saturday, October 28. The funds were also swelled by a generous donation from the Pam Pam who gave a percentage of every bill taken on Saturday to the cause. The runners also had a supply of special '3 in 3' t- shirts, which are available in return for donations of £5 or more. These can still be obtained by contacting Nicky or Matthew at Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire. "We would like to thank everyone who donated and purchased t-shirts," said Nicky. "We would especially like to thank the Pam Pam for their generous donation." For more information and to donate online, visit http://www.3in3.co.uk">www.3in3.co.uk
