Anticipation is building for the start of the 2016 Pembrokeshire Karting Championship which will hear the engines roar into action at round one on Sunday, March 20.

The championship is aimed at competitors of all abilities and is both affordable and an exciting way to experience an organised motorsport competition, with drivers given the freedom to race in as many or as few events as they wish.

This season will once again see entrants split into the lightweight and heavyweight categories, where they will race throughout the year at both West Wales Karting’s indoor track and Carew Karting’s outdoor circuit.

The champions of each category will win an exclusive factory tour at a leading Formula 1 team in December, where they will have full behind the scenes access and discover exactly how an F1 car is designed, manufactured and raced.

New and inexperienced racers will be able to compete for the Rookie of the Year trophy, whilst females and over 40s are invited to win the Ladies Cup and Masters Cup, respectively.

This year, the Fastest Lap Challenge is included in the price. This special competition gives racers a single lap in the same kart as everyone else to set a quick time, with a driving experience in a Ferrari or Lamborghini up for grabs.

2016 promises to be one of the most exciting seasons yet as some top names return to the competition.
