A FAMILY from Saundersfoot swapped a chilly New Year's Day dip on their local beach this year for a swim in Florida waters, as they celebrated the turn of the year by taking the plunge at Fort Myers Beach.

Emma and Gareth Dewhurst from Saundersfoot, along with their children Lily, Martha, Luke and Ruby, took their first dip of 2011 while visiting Emma's brother Phillip Morris and his wife Caroline over the festive period, and did their bit for the Saundersfoot Festivities' New Year's Day Swim.
