The 2009 Annual Terry Hermann Memorial Bass Fishing Competition takes place on Sunday, July 26.

This will be the seventh contest and proceeds are in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Registration prior to the event is at the Hope and Anchor, £5 per rod.

The weigh-in will be at 7.30 pm back at the Hope and Anchor, where there will be the world-famous Dai the Boot auction, plus fun and games for all the family.

The trophy for the heaviest bass is once again up for grabs, together with prizes for the biggest fish of another species and the youngest competitor to land a bass.

Last year's winning bass was four pound and caught by 'Team Normandie', with John Bull coming second with a three-and-three-quarter pound bass. Gwenno Griffiths won the youngest rod and Harvey (North Bay) the biggest species. Can they make prize-winning catches again?

Official event t-shirts are available from the Hope and Anchor, with 50 per cent off to all registered entrants.

Last year's event raised over £4,000 for Cancer Research UK and hopes are high that a bumper sum will be reeled in on Sunday.
