Grove of Narberth, a luxury country house hotel, have announced they are working with acclaimed UK interior designers Martin Hulbert and Jay Grierson in a £300k refurbishment to modernise their lounge, bar and restaurant spaces.
This project continues the valued partnership between Grove of Narberth and the team at Martin Hulbert Design, following the successful transformation of the garden cottages into six new suites in 2016. The project will refurbish the restaurant and bar and also the lounges. Like the cottages, these will draw inspiration from the Narberth hills and Welsh crafts and textiles.
In the secluded setting, all spaces will be warm, cosy, sophisticated and full of charm. The interiors will champion local materials and craftsmanship at every turn - coal, slate, wool, wood, granite and stone. Original art from local artists will be hung on the walls and colour schemes will be in harmony with the soft rolling landscape outside. Chalky hues, plenty of light and shade and interesting textures will feature throughout.
The works already underway have discovered an original inglenook dating back to the original build of the house in 1670. This beautiful find will now be fully restored and brought back to life as part of the main project, adding a wonderful element to the new reception area.
Martin Hulbert said “It is lovely to be working back at the Grove. It’s a magical place and extremely inspiring and has created a storm of new creative energy in our London studio. Its magnificent natural setting and humble charm provides a rich source of inspiration.”
Neil Kedward said: “This is a hugely exciting chapter for us and working with Martin Hulbert is always so much fun. His passion to use all that is on our doorstep and bringing the outside in is something that will elevate the spaces to match the standard achieved in the suites opened in 2016. We simply can’t wait to introduce our guests to the finished spaces.”
