There were big anniversary celebrations for two well-known Narberth couples recently, accounting for a total of 123 years of wedded bliss!
Well known for their sense of humour, when asked what was the secret to a long and happy marriage, the Feetham brothers, Eric and Leslie, who have been married to their wives Doris and Lena for a total of 123 years, both agreed - "You have to start with a damned good woman... and everything else falls into place!"
Eighty-nine-year-old Eric has been married to Doris for 63 years, with their wedding having taken place in Crinow Church, Narberth, on August 25, 1951, while Leslie, who is 87, married Lena on November 6, 1954, at Gelli Chapel and the couple recently celebrated their diamond anniversary.
Leslie, who has a son Richard and daughter Margaret, with Lena, is widely known in the farming community for his work as a pest control officer and his love of horses, while Eric, who has been Mayor of Narberth several times and is an MBE, is best known, together with his wife Doris and daughter Elizabeth, for their time running the Spar Supermarket in Narberth.
