First Latin Mass on Caldey for 40 years
Friday, 10 July 2009
Catholics from England and Wales gathered on Caldey Island to attend a Sung Latin Mass last week in honour of the Feast of The Most Precious Blood.
The celebrant was Father Jason Jones of Our Lady of the Taper, Cardigan and the Mass took place in the old Priory Chapel.
It is believed that this was the first Latin Mass, in what is now termed the Extraordinary Form, since the Second Vatican Council of the late 1960s.
Father Jones is pictured with his altar servers outside the Priory Chapel, Caldey.

Tenby Car Park charges have increased by 260% since their last review back in 1994. The new charges for a reserved space throughout the season equate to 95p a day, according to the Council. Do you think that this is reasonable or disgusting?
