LADIES’ SECTION

The Grandma Cup: Played on August 20, only seven hardy competitors took part due to the very wet and windy conditions. Overall winner was Mary Lewis with 30 points (dropping two shots in handicap) and the runner-up was Carole Blackwell with 33.
Mrs. Wrench Ashtray. Played on August 25, once again in rain! Winner was Carole Blackwell with 25 points, Ros Williams came second with 20 and Lynne Rees third with 10.
LGU Medal and Dragon Brooch: Played on Wednesday, September 1, on a beautiful warm, sunny day - a change from the last few weeks! Overall winner was Ann Williams with a net score of 70 (dropping her handicap by one point), Ros Williams was second with 78 and Mary Mountney third with 84.
The ladies’ section captain is hosting an open charity day tomorrow (Saturday). All proceeds from the event are in aid of the Alzheimers Society for use in Pembrokeshire. There are a few tee-times left in both the morning and afternoon. Visitors are welcome, with the entry fee being just £10. The format is an individual stableford competition played in threes, but if you wish to find someone to play with, there are a few vacancies for a third player!
