Another eventful weekend Aces - well done all on your achievements.
Outlaw Ironman Distance, Nottingham - Ceire Merrison 14 hours 50 minutes, Tracey Thomas 13 hours 44 minutes, David Poole 12 hours one minute, Emma Jane Richards 13 hours 13 minutes, Zoe McBeth 15 hours 26 minutes. The 2.4-mile swim took place in the Helles Pierrepoint Boating Lake, followed by a 112-mile cycle through the rolling Nottinghamshire Countryside. The marathon took them along the banks of the River Trent passing Notts Forrest Football Stadium and Trent Cricket Ground.
Castle Howard Olympic Distance Tri, York: Ann Rowell came fifth in her age group - a one-mile swim, 45km cycle followed by a 10km run through the beautiful, but hilly grounds of the Castle Howard stately home.
Snowdon Trail Marathon: Chris Lloyd and his mate Gary Heesom took part starting and finishing in Llanberis ascending to 1,685 meters circumnavigating to the peak of Snowdon. Both did really well in what can only be described as ‘brutal’ conditions finishing in seven hours one minute (they would have been under the seven hours if they had not stopped to fly the Aces flag!)
Scolton Manor junior duathlon: Eddie and Teaghan Waring, also with the Junior Tri Stars Club. Eddie did a 1.4km run, 4km bike, 400m run in the 11-13 years age group and Teaghan did a 1.4km run, 6km bike, 400 run in the 12-15 years age group - watch out mum and dad!
We had two Sunday club rides where a group rode to Angle enjoying a coffee and cake stop and another group rode up to The Sloop in Porthgain for lunch via St. Davids (80 miles - I would have needed a sleep after lunch!)
